Overview

The Slicer is a compact filter bar that sits at the top of your dashboard. Every filter you apply here is instantly broadcast to all other Millarum widgets on the same dashboard β€” no manual refresh required.

You can filter by:

  • Project β€” one or more Jira projects
  • Issue Type β€” Bug, Story, Task, Epic, Sub-task, etc.
  • Status β€” To Do, In Progress, Done, any custom status
  • Extra Fields β€” Assignee, Priority, Fix Version, Labels, Due Date, or any custom Jira field

All filters are multi-select: combine multiple values within a field and across multiple fields simultaneously.

Setting Up the Slicer

Step 1 β€” Add the Slicer to your dashboard

  1. Click Add gadget on your Jira dashboard.
  2. Search for "Millarum Slicer".
  3. Click Add.

Step 2 β€” Configure the Slicer name (optional)

When the configuration dialog appears, enter a custom name for the Slicer (e.g., Team Alpha Filters). This name is displayed at the top of the gadget. Click Save Configuration.

Step 3 β€” Apply your first filter

  1. Click the Project dropdown and select one or more projects.
  2. Optionally click Type to filter by issue type.
  3. Optionally click Status to filter by status.
  4. Click β†Ί Apply to broadcast the filters to all other widgets.
Note

Leaving a dropdown empty means "all values" β€” not "no results". Only fields with active selections act as filters.

Matching Issue Count

The Slicer displays a live count of matching issues on the right side of the filter bar. This count updates when you apply filters, giving you instant feedback on the scope of your selection before examining the other widgets.

Tips

  • Active filters turn blue. Dropdowns with selected values are highlighted so you can quickly see what's active.
  • No selection = no filter. An empty dropdown means "all values", so you always see data even with no filters set.
  • Presets speed up standups. Create presets for common views like "My open bugs" or "This sprint" and switch between them in one click.
  • Use shared presets to give your whole team consistent, pre-built views of the dashboard.
